Welcome to the Retreat Ministry Page!
We have 3 high school retreats at St. Louis Church. Though they vary in length, location, theme, and character, each retreat exists for 1 mission.
Our mission is to provide young people with an engaging opportunity to experience Jesus Christ in our Church.
To emphasize our common mission, the CYM Office encourages our team members to consider experiencing all 3 of our retreats at some time, either as a team member or a high-school retreatant. (Did you know you can go to any of these retreats at any point in your high-school career?) This will enable you to witness the different components of our retreat program
Team Mini-Retreat Ministry Training Days
Retreat Ministry Training days are for members of all three teams. They provide community-building, prayer and training in basic retreat leadership skills and qualities like presenting testimonies; leading games, small group, and prayer; being welcoming and hospitality; remaining Christ-centered.
- January 20, 2-5pm in Howard Bishop Rooms
- February 3, 2-5pm in Howard Bishop Rooms
Please bring the appropriate permission form and fee to the Retreat Ministry Training Days OR mail it to CYM RE: Retreat Team 12500 Clarksville Pike Clarksville, MD 21029 OR drop off your form and fee at the parish office.
Spark! 1&2
March 22-24, 2019
Friday-Sunday
Two back-to-back, 24-hour retreat experiences at Msgr. O’Dwyer Retreat House in Sparks, MD. This retreat is primarily to serve Confirmation students (HS Sophomores) and introduce them to a Jesus encounter through prayers and activities centered around identity, community and mission. If you are the high-energy, high-impact type, consider this retreat!
No prior experience on this retreat necessary to apply.

Summit Lake
April 5-7, 2019
Friday-Sunday
An outdoor-oriented retreat held at Summit Lake Camp in Emmitsburg, MD. This retreat is open to all high-schoolers, including Confirmation students and is a deeper look at one’s relationship with God, self and others and our response to that relationship. If you like the outdoors and Olympic-style games, consider this retreat!
No prior experience on this retreat necessary to apply.

Teen ACTS
July 25-28, 2019
Thursday-Sunday
A 3-day/3-night immersive retreat experience at Msgr. O’Dwyer Retreat Center in Sparks, MD. This retreat is open to all high-schoolers, including Confirmation students and is a personal encounter with Christ through the themes of Adoration, Community, Theology and Service. If you like to throw surprise parties, consider this retreat!
Should have previously attended an
Adult or Teen ACTS retreat to apply.

(tentative: Tuesdays 7-9)
Preparation consists of approx.12 weekly meetings mid/late May to July. (May miss no more than 3 meetings; college team exempt from meetings during school year.)
(Some scholarships or fundraising opportunities may be held to cover retreat fees.
Please do not let fees deter you from applying.)
You will be asked to sign permission forms upon commitment to retreat team.
