Monthly Food Collection

The first full weekend of each month we collect food for distribution the very next day in Baltimore and here in Howard County. Our food request is specific. We create a ‘St. Louis Bag of Food’ with the following items: 2 cans of tuna, 2 cans vegetable soup, 1 jar spaghetti sauce, 1 lb. spaghetti or rice, 2 boxes macaroni and cheese, 1 jar peanut butter, 2 cans green vegetable, 2 cans baked beans, 1 can fruit 1 box powdered milk, 1 box unsweetened cereal. We ask people to contribute either a whole bag or a part of a bag. We sort food and prepare bags at 6:30p.m. the Sunday evening of the food collection. The food is given to FISH (a volunteer organization providing emergency assistance in Howard County), the Franciscan Center (a community center/food pantry/soup kitchen founded and run by the Franciscans) and My Brother’s Keeper (a soup kitchen serving Baltimore County).
