The St. Louis Wee Praise program is in need of volunteers for the following positions:

COORDINATOR: Oversee the program and ensure coverage is provided during 9:00am Mass by catechists and assistants.

CATECHIST – Prepare and teach a lesson based on the Mass readings.  Must arrive no later than 8:40am on class days and stay until all children are picked up and materials are put away (usually 10:15).

ADULT ASSISTANT – Assist Catechist with planned lesson as requested.  Must arrive no later than 8:40am on class days and stay until all children are picked up and materials are put away (usually 10:15am).

CLASSROOM HELPER – (ages 11-18) Assist Catechist and Adult Assistant as requested.  Must arrive no later than 8:40am on class days and stay until all children are picked up and materials are put away (usually 10:15am). Volunteer hours are available for those who are completing service hour requirement.

SUBSTITUTES - Fill in as needed for Catechist, Assistant or Helper.  When substituting for a Catechist, lesson plan and materials will be provided unless the Substitute requests to plan his/her own lesson.

Please note:  The Archdiocese of Baltimore is committed to providing a safe environment for children and youth.  All parish volunteers who come in frequent contact with children/youth are required to complete a volunteer certification process.  All adult volunteers must complete VIRTUS Certification, which includes a criminal background check. Volunteer opportunities are also available for youth beginning in the 6th grade. Youth, ages 14 to 17, must complete WORTHY of the CALL Certification in order to volunteer.
