September to May – Grade 6-10
Monday Evenings (weekly, 7:00-8:30pm)
Sundays (once-a-month, 10am-2pm including Mass)

MONDAY LEAD CATECHIST: Under the guidance of the Director of Youth Ministry, catechists are called to share the Catholic faith with young people in the parish.  Through training and supervision, catechists follow a structured curriculum to prepare a diverse learning experience for young people. Each catechist will have mentors to facilitate each of the small groups within the class.

MONDAY MENTORS: Responsible for guiding and facilitating a small group of young people, and helps lead catechists with setup, supplies and attendance. Lead Catechist would provide main teaching while mentors lead discussions, develop positive small group dynamics and walk with the young person throughout the year.

SUNDAY ABLAZE FAMILY TEAM: Catechists responsible for helping to coordinate 4 Sunday programs (4 hrs/Sunday), leading parent and youth small groups, and presenting once each Sunday.  Assistants help with getting supplies, setting up, facilitating groups.

SUPPORT STAFF:

  1. Monday Office Assistance – Help Office Administrator with whatever needs to be done: attendance sheets, paper work, kickoff and end of year event, hall monitor, etc.
  2. Monday Substitutes – Fill in for catechists or mentors as needed.

Please note:  The Archdiocese of Baltimore is committed to providing a safe environment for children and youth.  All parish volunteers who come in frequent contact with children/youth are required to complete a volunteer certification process.  All adult volunteers must complete VIRTUS certification, which includes a criminal background check.  Youth, ages 14 to 17, must complete WORTHY of the CALL certification in order to volunteer.
