Clubs
Art Club
Art club offers seventh and eighth grade students many opportunities to express and develop their creativity. Students employ a variety of media to design works of art that appear in numerous venues.
Banking Program
St. Louis has formed a partnership with Sandy Spring National Bank in Clarksville. The bank will open savings accounts for our students with no hidden costs. Once a month during homeroom, middle school tellers accept deposits on behalf of the bank from our students who have established an account. Students may open an account at the beginning of the school year at St. Louis or may go to the branch directly. The school bank will only accept deposits; withdrawals must be made in person at the branch. Deposits must be more than $.25, and no deposit should exceed $10 or contain any more than twenty-five pennies.
Drama Club
Drama Club is available to students in grades seven and eight. Interested students select a play, rehearse after school, and stage a dinner theater and a matinee in the spring.
Homework Club
Homework Club will be offered once each week by teachers of first through eighth grade. Students may stay after school to complete homework and may ask for a teacher’s assistance on questions that arise.
It’s Academic
Students in grades six through eight are encouraged to participate in friendly, fun competition through It’s Academic. St. Louis students compete against students from other schools in a quiz-bowl style format.
Spanish Club
Students in second through fourth grade are invited to participate in the primary Spanish club, while students in fifth and sixth grade are invited to participate in middle school Spanish club. The students enhance their language skills while developing an appreciation for the culture of persons living in Spanish speaking countries.
Sports Club
Students in grades five through eight may join the Sports Club which is held on specific Fridays during the school year. Students participate in a variety of games and practice good sportsmanship.
Student Council
Students who participate in student council have the opportunity to learn about and participate in the political process, serve others, raise money for the school and for various charities, and have fun. Seventh and eighth grade students are elected to serve as officers, while students in grades five through eight are elected to represent the entire student body.
Yearbook
Eighth grade students are eligible to join the yearbook staff. Students take pictures and work on the design and layout of the yearbook throughout the school year. A hard copy of the book is published in June and a CD version is also available. The yearbook club meets once a week after school.
