Resources and Planning for the Music Ministry
Treble Choir – The St. Louis Treble Choir is a select group of children who desire a focused approach to reading music, vocalism, and the cantor ministry. The Treble Choir is regularly featured on the St. Louis Concert Series and in special liturgies throughout the year. Members of the Treble Choir are required to demonstrate year-round leadership in the Children’s Choir. Contact the Director of Music at the Parish Office for more information.
Folk Group – The Folk Group consists of men, women, boys and girls who sing or play guitar and wish to praise God by using their musical gifts in service at the liturgy. Other musical instruments (trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, drum, flute, piano, and oboe) are also welcome. The Folk Group ministers weekly on Sunday morning at the 9:30am Mass; group prayer and rehearsal follow the Mass. For more information, call Leo Rudegeair, Director of the Folk Group, at 410-531-6314.
Sing in the Summer – Sing in the Summer at St. Louis began in 2010 and is a 5-day intensive choral program for elementary through high school students with an interest in joining the Treble Choir.
The Good News– The Good News is open to high school students, grades 9 through 12, and provides music for the 9:30am Youth Mass on the fourth Sunday of each month. The group also provides music for parish events throughout the year including Confirmation, the Clarksville Picnic and the CYM Italian Dinner.
Hymnal Sponsorship – A hymnal sponsorship includes dedication plates for a set of two books found in the pew racks in the main church — Worship, Fourth Edition and Gather, Third Edition. These most recent editions from GIA Publishing combine to provide a versatile selection of well-loved hymnody and inspired new music. Sponsorship for a two-hymnal set is $50.
