As Archbishop Lori described in A Light Brightly Visible 2.0, in God’s loving plan, families are where the faith is to be taught, modeled and transmitted. Unfortunately, families today are under great stress. But Archbishop Lori continues: “When the light of Christ is brightly burning in our families, they become a source of light and love for the Church and for the wider society.”
We recognize the challenges families face in today’s world, and we have implemented some additions to our faith formation program at St. Louis to help families shine brightly with the light of Christ. This year we have added mandatory parent formation sessions held concurrently with the Saturday morning classes to help parents ignite and keep burning the flame of faith and love of Christ in their families. These mandatory sessions will take place in the social hall or the gym. Our clergy will be providing the formation, with input from families on how to make our homes a beacon of light and hope in today’s world.
