Monday & Wednesday Evenings, Sundays – Grade 6-10

LEAD CATECHIST: Under the guidance of the Director of Youth Ministry, catechists are called to share the Catholic faith with young people in the parish.  Through trainings and supervision, catechists follow a structured curriculum to prepare a diverse learning experience for young people. Each catechist will have mentors to facilitate each of the three small groups within the class.

MENTORS: Responsible for guiding and facilitating a group of 7-8 young people.  Lead Catechist would actually teach class, while mentors lead discussions, develop positive small group dynamics and walk with young person throughout year.

ACT NOW TEAM: Catechists responsible for helping to coordinate 4 Saturday programs (6 hrs/Saturday), facilitating small groups, and presenting once each Saturday.  Assistants help with getting supplies, setting up, facilitating groups.

EDGE TEAM: Catechists team teach this monthly program for 9th & 10th graders.  4th Sunday of every month (7) from 9:30am Youth Mass – 1pm.

SUPPORT STAFF:

  1. Monday Office Assistance – Help Office Administrator with whatever needs to be done: attendance sheets, paper work, beginning/ending icecream social, hall monitor, etc.
  2. Monday Substitutes – Fill in for catechists or mentors as needed.

Please note:  The Archdiocese of Baltimore is committed to providing a safe environment for children and youth.  All parish volunteers who come in frequent contact with children/youth are required to complete a volunteer certification process.  All adult volunteers must complete VIRTUS certification, which includes a criminal background check.  Youth, ages 14 to 17, must complete WORTHY of the CALL certification in order to volunteer.
