What does it mean to be a STEM school?

Receiving recognition as a STEM school through Cognia recognizes our continuing commitment to STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) across all curriculum areas.  As part of the accreditation process, St. Louis School faculty and curriculum were evaluated against Cognia’s Standards and Indicators to determine the strength, effectiveness, and consistency of STEM instruction.  The Standards and Indicators clearly define the components vital to creating and sustaining superior, student-centered STEM teaching, as well as clear expectations for student outcomes and mastery of 21st Century skills.  Click here to see how those standards were applied and how we met and exceeded them!

Stay tuned for our weekly “Spotlight on STEM” to see our instruction in action!
